.On Sabbath May 10, 2008, the majority of the church members
that Sabbath morning, got up, got dressed for church, came to
church, took part in a short devotion led by Pastor and then
proceeded to walk the church's neighborhood, meeting, greeting
and distributing literature to members of the community in the
glare of the morning sunshine. This is the second time this
has been done, last time being about a five weeks ago, and is in
response to a "new" initiative of the Personal Ministries
Department that has received enthusiastic response the members.
The literature used is the church produced monthly magazine
called Profiles and the intent is that each member will become a
well dressed Sabbath postman delivering the word of the gospel
to the homes.
After the brisk walk about in the morning sunshine the
members were back in church by 11:00 AM for a rousing song
service and an abbreviated Mother's Day program by our Sabbath
School department. The highlight of the program was a special
presentation of a floral arrangement by Nicklan to Sis. James on
behalf of his uncle Vaughn in Canada. The Mothers present
received corsages and a devotional booklet and matching pen
donated by Sis. Hazel John-Prescott of the US.
We thank Sis. Hazel sincerely since she only recently
reacquainted herself with the church after a long time away. God
Bless you Sis. Hazel.
After church was dismissed the women of the church were
treated to a sumptuous (vegetarian) meal prepared by the MEN, yes,
yes and it actually tasted well. For desert there was Ice Cream
and Sweetbread.
After such a feast a FEW members remained for A.Y. Service
which focused on relationships and was ably lead by Sis. Melissa
Cornwall, our A.Y. Leader.
